Japanese food lovers know this irresistible delight, a small translucent ball made from sticky rice paste traditionally filled with red bean paste. Very popular in Taiwan today, the “môa-chî” has seduced LA MAISON NORDIQUE, always on the lookout for the most delicious trends, which intends to make us discover this Asian sweetness, in an ice-cold version since summer is approaching.

To refresh the idea of ice cream, La Maison Nordique has put a bite of ice cream inside the delicate mochis. This allows you to grab the ice cream with fingertips, without it melting. For extra pleasure, the thin layer of rice paste of frozen mochis is flavoured with coconut milk. “Mochi”, its the simple pronunciation is already voluptuous. Then, the small opalescent ball is gently picked with fingertips. Under the soft and velvety texture of the rice paste with coconut milk, the freshness of an ice cream surprises taste buds like a frozen shiver under the soft skin. In Japan, we use the words “mochi skin” to describe a silky, firm and bouncy skin texture. They’re really chewing these ice-cold mochis!
